Cisnadioara fortified church

Cisnadioara, Romania – 2024. In May 2024 I worked on a volunteer project for the Fuller Center for Housing in Romania. Following the build 14 members of the build team went on a five day walking tour in central Transylvania. Our second day hike started in the village of Rasinari and ended in the town of Cisnadioara. After a short rest we climbed a long path of steps to the top of a hill where there are the remains of a fortified church built by the Saxons centuries ago. The basilica was built in the 12th century and for 400 years it served as a place of protection for the local villagers.
